TJ is an improvisational player who takes his influences from classic rock and blues artists. TJ puts a lot of attention on tone and, other than the recording medium itself, uses all analogue technology to obtain the desired tone and effects. TJ also uses a minimum number of takes when recording a song, often recording in one take, in alignment with his feeling and emotion live in the moment and the belief that imperfections add both character and interest. It is the imperfections that become hard to replicate and are representative of one instance in time. Life and thought advance when there are differences as opposed to perpetual replications that perfectly represent the past.
